The Watchmen movie is coming
out a lot sooner that I thought. I better find time to go see it next
weekend and it better be the best movie I’ve ever seen after
the coolness that is the Watchmen graphic novel.

I watched the first episode of Dollhouse
on line the other day. Not bad, not bad at all. Still, the concept
of the show is that the main character will have a new personality
inserted into her nearly every episode and by the end of the adventure
she’ll be wiped clean again. That doesn’t leave much room
for character development and the greatest aspect of Joss Whedon’s
work is his strong sense of characterization. Granted, it allows for
a more extensive cast of character personalities, but I don’t
know if the Dollhouse is going to recycle the personalities it implants
into the main character and even if they do, the appearances of said
personalities will probably be sporadic at best. Still, you can rarely
judge a show by its first episode, so I’m interested to see where
the show goes from here.

Two Friday the Thirteenths in a row. The
joys of having a month that is exactly four weeks long. Oh well, I
consider Friday the Thirteenth to be slightly more cheerful than Valentine’s
Day. Honestly though, I pretty much hate this time of year. Our culture
has built up this time to be a wonderful happy time of year and it’s
always a disappointment. Sometimes I wish I could hibernate until some
better months come around.

I’ve
come to the conclusion that I need to yell at people more often. I
don’t really yell enough. Other people go into tirades over problems
that I let roll off my back. I sort of have a slow-building anger.
So when I finally erupt it’s usually pretty powerful and unexpected.
And with a recent eruption I’ve come to realize that when I yell
at someone I get results. Then again if I yelled at the incompetent
on a regular basis they would probably become desensitized to it eventually.
Damn the dilemma!

So now I’m settling into a new job.
weee. Actually, I kind of like this job. Lord knows that so far it’s
better than my last job, but I hate these awkward transition periods.
I feel like I’m doing reasonably well so far though.
I’ve been on a Neil Gaiman
kick ever since Christmas when my sister gave me a CD with songs
based off his work. I read Coraline, Neverwhere,
and now I’m working on Stardust. When I finish reading
it I’ll have to see about renting the movie and I’ll
have to see Coraline when it comes out.

Okay, I’m behind on updating, but
it’s not really my fault. Server issues combined with a busy
schedule as of late are to blame (at least, that’s how I’m
going to rationalize is). Hopefully now things can get back to some
semblance of normal.
