Well, I’m back. That concert is
hopefully a night I will never forget. I’ve seen videos of the
Crüxshadows perform, but this was ultimate hi-def and 360º.
If you haven’t seen videos of Crüxshadows performances,
there are several available on You Tube. The show was a lot like that...only
real.
Before the show I waited in
front of the club early (probably too early for most sane people)
and we had the chance to listen to the band warm up. After a while,
members of the band (including the lead singer Rogue) came out of
the club and walked by us. My friend told me if I didn't say something
the next time they walked by, he would.
So the band comes back by and
CJ calls out to Rogue. Rogue hesitated for a moment like he still
had a lot to do before the show, but he stopped to talk with us.
And that was before the show. The show itself was fantastic. The
Crüxshadows have an incredible amount of energy that they pour
into their performance. Honestly, I want to see them again. I wish
I had the time and money to follow the band around for a while.

My vacation is approaching (a little too
slowly for my taste, but anyway). So I’ll have a coupe of early/late
updates coming up, but I will do my best to keep caught up.

It’s official. I have tickets to
see the Crüxshadows in concert. I’ve waited a year to see
this show, and now I’m all set. If I’m not at this show,
either I’m dead or someone close to me is. Crüxshadows!
Crüxshadows! Crüxshadows!

There are many downsides to corporate
life. Company politics being one of the major annoyances. But today,
I get to bask in one of the merits of working for a corporation: free
dated technology that the company wants to get rid of. I now own a
G3, and it cost me nothing. It’s nice to own a Mac. It will be
even nicer once I have it networked to my PC so I can have the two
machines working together.

I confess, I’m guilty of a terrible
sin. I have never read Watchmen. Even worse, it took a movie
trailer to catch my interest. I know. I’m a comic book heretic.
Right now I’m about to start chapter twelve of the story. My
only thought is: wow. This is one of the best books I’ve ever
read, let alone the best comic. It has been a long time since I felt
so emotionally moved by a work of literature. The last page of chapter
eleven hit so hard that I could barely talk for several minutes. What
a story.

And the high point of the weekend...finding
out that I don’t have to report for jury duty today. Yay, I’m
actually happy that I have to go to work.
Well, I also found a band. They’re
called Mesh, and they’re British synth-pop. Check them out
on YouTube.
