It was morning when I approached my home. Dyguleon charged down the path toward me. He was probably confused because of my strange schedule, but was glad to see me nonetheless. When I finally calmed him, we walked the path to the house.



My mother was even more pleased than Dyguleon to see me.

“Oh Drefan, we were so worried. We thought you might be dead. What happened? Where were you?”

“I’m sorry mother,” I said meekly. “I ran off during the last raid and didn’t try to return home until the morning. By then I was so lost. I’m glad I finally found home.”

“You must be starved. Let me get you something to eat and then go to father. I’m sure he’ll want you to work now that you’re here.”

I smiled to myself. Yes, I was glad I found the way home.
