I crept away from the doorway and dove past. I waited a moment. No one had noticed me, so I continued on my way.

The next room was empty accept for the words “Who’s afraid of the Scanty Man?” scribed on the wall. I passed many doors much in the same way. I suppose in many ways, I lost my innocence that night.



In several rooms I saw things I wish I had never seen.

And I’m ashamed to admit that in some dark places I saw things I did not wish to look away from. But I had my goal, and it drove me on down that hall.
