My eyes rolled back to where the Mist Walker stood. I had heard of Sir Zeroun, of course. He had a reputation of being a champion of the people. However, nothing was as it seemed.

“Good,” I said. “The king can deal with the villain on this side; I’ve got other rogues to see to.”



After a moment more, I turned away from the wall. I stopped as I passed the Mist Walker. His eyes were still fixed upon the palace. Was he uncertain that the king’s justice would deal with Zeroun accordingly? Or did he believe that the palace did not possess adequate dungeons to hold the prisoner?

I didn’t give much thought to these questions, for I had my own goals to complete.
