For several minutes I didn’t say a word. What was I supposed to say? How was I supposed to react when confronted by an immortal legend?

I let out a groan as I stood. “What hit me?”

“He goes by the name Foray,” the Mist Walker said. “He is a man who has the power to move with incredible speed, and he is part of Tarlea’s underworld.”

“They attacked here twice,” I said.

“Yes,” he replied. “I’m not sure why they came the first time, but this time it seems they were after you.”

I felt cold inside when he said that. It had to be true, and being thus I knew it meant that I couldn’t expect the village to weather the storm. Unless I found a way to stop it, the storm wouldn’t go away.
